Website privacy.

Omelette Inc. ("we", "us") runs omeletteinc.com. This page explains what this website collects and why. There is no advertising on this website, we do not sell data, and there are no user accounts on the website.

Our apps (PubMed Hub, SciRead, Research Connect, Research Notes and Medics / iMedics) are covered by the app privacy policy, which is also linked from each app's App Store and Google Play page. PassB has its own PassB privacy policy on passb.app.

Information you send us

When you use the contact form we receive what you type: your name, email address, organization (optional), the topic you choose and your message. We use it only to answer you. We do not share it or add it to mailing lists.

Visit statistics

When you open the home page, our server records one visit (repeat visits within 30 minutes are not counted again). To draw the "Read around the world" globe, our server asks the geolocation service ip-api.com for the approximate location of your IP address. For each visit we store:

• a one-way hash of your IP address (not the IP address itself)
• city, region and country, and approximate coordinates for that location
• your internet provider's name, as reported by the geolocation service
• the page that linked to us, if your browser sends it, and the time of the visit

The website only ever displays totals per country. We keep the most recent 10,000 visits; older records are deleted automatically.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested). We use them only for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies and local storage

This website does not set cookies and does not store anything in your browser's local storage.

Third-party services

The website loads a few files from other services, which receive your IP address as part of delivering them:

• Google Fonts, for the typefaces
• jsDelivr, for the Three.js 3D library and the world-map image used to draw the globe (home page only)

App Store and Google Play buttons take you to Apple's and Google's sites, which have their own privacy policies.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

• You can read the whole website without sending us any personal information.
• A content blocker that blocks third-party requests will not stop the website working; the 3D scenes simply will not appear.
• To ask what we hold about you, or to have a contact-form message deleted, write to us through the contact page.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new date.
